Airline chic: As Katy Perry landed in Sydney today, she displayed her self-declared 'split personality' fashion palette in a cacophony of prints

She's known for her outrageous, exaggeratedly cartoon sense of style both on and off-stage. And as Katy Perry landed in Sydney today, she displayed her self-declared 'split personality' fashion palette in a cacophony of prints.
'Here in Sydney (YES I'M HERE!) #KP3D is out July 2!' the 27-year-old pop star tweeted to her 22.1 million followers upon arrival.
The Firework hitmaker arrived to the Australian city looking impossibly fresh with vampy red lips and her violet tresses hung loose around her shoulders as she posed with fans.
Katy's sleeveless, belted dress and leggings bore the same busy, black-white-and-beige pattern and she paired them with a black leather jacket and matching booties.
'My sense of style is like one of those things that change colour with mood, always evolving,' Katy recently told UK site Female First.

'When I get up, I choose my outfit depending on my state of mind. If it is a "mixture of many things" it is because I feel many different emotions at the same time, to the point where you feel you almost have a split personality.'
The California Girls singer said that in the past she would always lean towards daring styles.
'The flashier, shinier and imposing the dress the better, this is the reason why I still love the work of Jean Charles de Castelbajac and Jeremy Scott,' said Perry.

Katy takes a cue from Madonna, whose evolving style is legendary at this point.
'She was able to keep up the interest of the people, because you never knew with what she would come out with the next time. And she has offered a solid and consistent musical product,' Katy told L'Uomo Vogue magazine of the queen of pop.
'I hope to do the same, to make sure that people continue to be interested in me and in 10 years, to find out that I have produced songs that will never be forgotten.'
