R & R: Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan enjoyed a day poolside with son Exton

He has been recovering from an ankle injury sustained on the set of Iron Man 3 in August.
And although he was still sporting an ankle brace while he hung out poolside in Miami with his family yesterday, Robert Downey Jr was back to work on Monday and suiting up to reprise his role asbillionaire playboy, industrialist and ingenious engineer Tony Stark.
Holding onto baby Exton, his 6 month old son with wife Susan, the actor was quite the hands-on dad looked completely relaxed as he toted the adorable tot around.

Injured: The star hurt his ankle while filming an action scene on the latest Iron Man installment

The 47-year-old, who plays the lead superhero in the franchise, sported a jaunty hat and a pair of patterned swimming trunks as he enjoyed some quality time with his growing family.
Susan, a film producer, relaxed in the shade wearing a blue button down shirt, clearly happy to leave the childcare in the hands of her famous husband.
Robert also has a son Indio, 18, from his first marriage to Deborah Falconer.

Star quality: As usual, the ebullient actor brought smiles to the set with his clowning around

Filming resumed on Monday in Florida where prop makers built a phony beach-side restaurant called Neptune’s Net, named after a well known fish fry bar in Malibu popular with bikers where the Iron Man films are set.
Despite several rain delays, Downey Jr looked in his element as the ebullient star drew laughs from the cast.
The martial arts loving actor has also been filming many of his own action scenes for the film rather than relying on a double.
